I bought this headset about 2 years ago at Walmart for approx 29 BUCKS (not 100 dollars. I wanted to buy a cheap 15 - 20 dollar headset but this was all walmart stocked at the time so I reluctantly made the purchase hoping that the sturdy looking set would at least last longer than the usual flimsy sets I would buy. IT DID. This headset lasted me 2 yrs. and the only reason I think it broke is that my 2 year old got hold to it and sound stopped in one ear. then another ear soon after. I went back to walmart hoping they had this headset still but.. they replaced it with a different model. I was bent on getting the same headset again since it lasted me longer than any headset.. and I use them a lot.. gaming, skyping, listening to movies on netflix.. so I was pretty impressed it lasted 2 years. So I hopped on amazon found a few sellers who had them brand new for around 30 - 40 bucks.. this was about 4 months ago.. I also saw I could buy a refurbished one for 11 bucks. Thinking refurbished might be a brand new one that had just been returned for whatever reason but not a defect.. I took a chance and purchased a refurb one for 11 bucks. That one only lasted me..4 months :( which is why I hopped back on amazon looking to go ahead and buy a brand new one again.. and also why I titled my review 100 bucks new? LOL b/c that is about 70 dollars over priced. My advice.. dont spend more than 30 on this. Good Headset. Accidentally mutes b/c the mute button rest in your lap and you can easily press it without knowing.. happens to me all the time. Good Sound.. never had an issue with hearing people or people hearing me. The cord was fine for me as long as I was careful with it.. don't tug on it and go crazy because it won't stand up to all that.. and remember.. I used mine heavily for two years w/o a problem until my daughter got hold to it. If I could improve on anything it would just be the cord. I think I'm going to look into wireless this time. that is all.
